HUNTING FOR SEABIRDS:

There are good opportunities to hunt for seabirds in the coastal area around Sotra Rorbusenter. One do not need anything else than a weapon card and paid hunting tax to the Norwegian government for this kind of hunting, since it goes under the laws of peoples rights. Hunting is allowed on open sea, on shallow waters, skerries that are covered at normal high water and are not close to any private properties. A 2 kilometres distance from any land is required when hunting from a motor boat. If hunting closer to any land than 2 kilometres one must use the oars.

(Only shotguns are allowed for hunting).

Norwegian citizens must have a weapon card and proof of paid hunting tax.
Foreign citizens must have, in addition to the above mentioned, a special permit from the Department of nature administration.
